MicroBio Air Samplers Overview

The MicroBio Air Sampler is widely used by major food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical manufacturers as well as noted consultants and medical facilities to monitor the air for potential microbiological contaminants. The MicroBio will sample a user-selectable volume from 25 to 2000 liters at a high flow rate of 100 liters per minute. Placing selective agar on a collection plate allows for the identification of specific problem organisms within the tested environment and the quantitative measure of concentration in colony-forming units (CFUs) per cubic meter (cfu/m3).

Collection efficiency, low cost and ease-of-operation are all designed into an instrument that takes the worry out of sampling!

The MicroBio product line now includes the option to use either 90mm diameter Petri dishes or 55mm RODAC plates. Contact plates can also be used for surface sampling; while Petri dishes are easier to fill with agar - either choice provides an inexpensive and standard consumable. All operations are controlled by four front panel mounted switches and the ON/OFF switch. Press a switch to the desired volume, activate the time delayed start (if desired) and press START to initiate sampling. An audible beep and the display panel notifies when sampling is completed.

MicroBio Air Samplers Design

To aid in data analysis and report preparation, the MicroBio PC Reporter Software is supplied with all MicroBio samplers. This software package provides the ability to record all results, print reports and save-to-file for input to spreadsheets or LIMS programs. It also includes help and guidance on air sampling of viable organisms, a list of references and links to principle websites for additional information on bioaerosol sampling.
